Feel steadier on your feet
and get back to everyday life

Reprime means to prepare again.

For older adults who feel unsteady, stiff, or worried about falling, and for the families who care about them.

I combine gentle hands-on work with simple strength, balance, and walking practice. Many people work toward relying less on a cane or walker, at a pace they and their care team are comfortable with.

Who it’s for

Is this for you, or someone you love?

Reprime Steady is for older adults who want to move with more confidence. You don’t need to be fit or active to start.

  • Worried about falling

Maybe you’ve had a fall or a close call. Now you hold the wall, avoid stairs, or stay home more than you’d like.

  • Balance feels less sure

Turning, curbs, uneven paths, or a busy store make you nervous. You want to feel steady again.

  • Stiff and slow to get going

Getting out of bed, a car, or a low chair takes more work than it used to. Mornings are the hardest.

  • After a hip or knee replacement

Once your surgeon or doctor has cleared you for activity, I can help you keep building strength and trust in the new joint.

  • Less active than you used to be

An illness, a hospital stay, or a long winter indoors left you weaker. You want to rebuild, gently.

  • Leaning on a cane or walker more

You use a cane or walker and want to feel stronger with it. Some people also have a goal of relying on it less.

Please see your doctor first if you’ve had a recent fall with an injury, new dizziness or fainting, chest pain, or sudden new weakness. In an emergency, call 911.

About

The person you’ll work with

Gentle hands-on care and simple practice, so everyday movement feels safer again.

I’m Dan Craft. I help people prepare their bodies again, so daily life feels steadier.

I’m a bodyworker and corrective exercise coach. I’ve spent about eight years working with people who have complex, long-standing pain. Every session is one-on-one with me.

Years ago, a surfing accident left me with a neck injury that nobody caught. I was brushed off, and physical therapy didn’t help. I built my own careful plan, and over months my symptoms settled. I know what it’s like to stop trusting your body. That’s my story, not a promise about yours.

Read my full story

I started lifting weights at eleven and fell in love with it. I studied how muscles and the nervous system work together. I earned a B.S. in Kinesiology at California State University, Northridge, and became a personal trainer at Equinox.

About nine months into that job, I had a surfing accident. I didn’t know it then, but I had broken a bone in my neck. What I felt was constant headaches and a body that no longer trusted movement. Specialists dismissed me, and physical therapy didn’t help.

So I built my own careful rehab plan. I listened to what my body could handle, and over about six months my symptoms settled. Months later, an MRI showed the fracture had healed.

Today I work with people whose pain or movement limits keep getting in the way of the life they want. Sessions mix hands-on bodywork with corrective exercise. It’s its own approach, not medical diagnosis or physical therapy. The goal isn’t to force a fix. It’s to help your body feel prepared again, one honest session at a time.

Sessions

What a session looks like

Sessions are gentle and unhurried. We mix hands-on work with simple practice you can use at home. There’s a seated option for almost everything.

  1. An unhurried start

We sit down and talk first. How are you feeling today? What’s been hard this week? Nothing is rushed.

  2. Gentle hands-on work

I work on stiff hips, backs, shoulders, knees, and ankles. You choose the pressure. We can work seated if a table isn’t comfortable.

  3. Simple strength practice

Everyday moves, like standing up from a chair or stepping up a small step. A sturdy chair or counter is always within reach.

  4. Balance and walking practice

We practice near a wall or counter, with me right beside you. If you use a cane or walker, we practice with it.

You leave with a few simple moves to practice at home, written down so you don’t have to remember them.

Safety

Safety first, at your pace

Feeling safe matters more than doing more. Here is how I keep it that way.

  • I work with your care team

I’ll work alongside your doctor or naturopath, not instead of them. With your permission, I’m glad to talk with them.

  • Cleared before we start

After a surgery, a hospital stay, or a fall, please check with your doctor before starting. Bring any guidance they gave you.

  • Your cane or walker stays

There’s no pressure to give up any device. Any change is a decision for you and your care team, when you all feel ready.

  • Paced to you

We start small and build slowly. You can sit, rest, or stop at any time. Some days we do less, and that’s fine.

  • Support close by

During balance work I stay right next to you. A sturdy chair, counter, or wall is always within reach.

  • Honest about my role

I’m not a doctor or physical therapist, and I don’t diagnose or treat conditions. If something needs a doctor first, I’ll tell you.

First visit

Your first visit, step by step

A first visit takes about 90 minutes. There’s plenty of time, and we take breaks whenever you like.

  1. Settle in and talk

We sit down and talk about your comfort, your health, and anything that has made exercise or hands-on care hard before.

  2. Your story and goals

What would you like to do again? Then a gentle look at how you stand, walk, and get up. It isn’t a test.

  3. Gentle work and practice

Hands-on work, never more pressure than you want, plus a few simple moves. You can pause or stop at any time.

  4. Recap and next steps

A short recap, simple moves for home, and an honest suggestion about what to do next. No pressure to sign up.

Client words

What clients say about working with me

These clients came to me for back and shoulder pain, not balance or walking. Everyone is different. Results vary, and this isn’t a promise of any outcome.

  • “Throughout the process, Dan was very professional, attentive and listened to my feedback.”

    Read Robert’s full story

“Working with Dan Craft has been a game changer. When I met Dan, I had a herniation in L4–L5 of my lower back and it was hard to put my pants and socks on because I was experiencing lower back pain. I have been working with private trainers, physiotherapists and chiropractors with various success but not a long-term permanent solution that I felt addressed my own specific pain and lifestyle issues. Since working with Dan in November the results were instant! My pain was down by over 50% by the first month, and by month 3 I was able to squat and pick up 70 lbs with no pain at all. I continue to work with Dan on stability and strength activities to enhance the gains made.”

“Throughout the process, Dan was very professional, attentive and listened to my feedback. If anyone is struggling with back pain and wanting a long-term solution to a healthy strong body and seeks not only a solution but a true understanding of your muscle, bone and body movements, I highly recommend working with Dan.”

  • “After 30 years of struggling with shoulder issues, I am now complete: physically strong, no longer have fear of using my left arm or reaching.”

    Read Vahe’s full story

“Dan changed my life, I’m not just saying that. After 30 years of struggling with shoulder issues, I am now complete: physically strong, no longer have fear of using my left arm or reaching.”

“I’ve had shoulder pain for the past 30 years after landing awkwardly on my shoulder, and recently started considering surgery. I went to multiple doctors and had MRIs done, each suggesting the surgery. I was told the surgery would take a year to recover from, which gave me doubts. My symptoms included numbness in my left arm, limited range of motion, fear of extending and grabbing anything, and bad posture resulting in back pain. I met Dan at the gym after scheduling my surgery, and spoke to him regarding possible therapy solutions. As a last ditch effort, Dan and I agreed to 4–6 therapy sessions, which he strongly believed would have a positive effect on my shoulder pain. After the 3rd session, the numbness in my shoulder was 70% less. After the sixth session, I felt more confident reaching with my left arm, without fear of pain and/or shoulder dislocation. After the sixth session, I also canceled my surgery. At this point, Dan gave me a set of exercises to strengthen my shoulder and my back, along with stretching exercises to stretch certain muscles in my chest. It’s been 12 months since my last therapy session with Dan; my life has changed, my arm no longer goes numb when I sleep, I no longer have fear of dislocation, and my range of motion is similar to my right arm. I feel strong and complete. For anyone dealing with pain and/or discomfort, I would recommend utilizing Dan’s knowledge and guidance on their path to recovery. I am free to speak about my recovery process and my current physical state. Feel free to ask Dan for my contact information.”

Before you book

Questions people ask

Will I be able to stop using my cane or walker?

I can’t promise that, and no one honestly can. Many people work toward relying less on a cane or walker. Whether and when to change any device is a decision for you and your doctor or physical therapist. Until then, we practice with it.

Do I need to be in good shape to start?

No. We start where you are today, even if that’s mostly sitting. Many parts of a session can be done in a chair.

Is this physical therapy?

No. I’m not a physical therapist, and Reprime isn’t physical therapy. It’s its own approach: hands-on bodywork and corrective exercise, built around your pain history and how your body moves. Many people find me after they’ve already tried the usual routes, and you don’t need a referral to start.

Is it safe with a joint replacement, osteoporosis, or other conditions?

Many people with joint replacements or ongoing health conditions can do gentle work when it’s adapted. I’ll ask about your health history and follow your doctor’s guidance. If I’m unsure, we check with your doctor first.

Does insurance or Medicare cover this?

Reprime Steady is self-pay only, so Medicare and insurance don’t cover these sessions. The good news is that you don’t need a referral to start, and no plan decides how many visits you get or what we work on together. Prices are listed upfront with no surprise bills, and a family member is welcome to pay.

Can a family member come with me?

Yes. A family member or caregiver is welcome at any visit, especially the first one.

How many sessions will I need?

There’s no honest one-number answer. After the first visit I’ll suggest a realistic starting plan. We’ll review it together, and you’re never locked into a package.
